THE HIKING
Hemp Creek Canyonlands have a network of very
scenic and interesting wilderness trails. While the way to and
from the cabin leads you via the Flat Iron Trail to a scenic
viewpoint and along Trout Creek Canyon to the Clearwater River
(2,5 hrs), other trails are highly recommended for day trips out
of your base camp at the cabin: The Moul Falls Trail (3-4 hrs),
the Hoodoo Trail ( 5 hrs) and
the even longer Whitehorse Bluffs trail (7-8 hrs) invite to daily
adventure treks. Some backtracking to a main intersection of
trails is required daily out of the cabin

THE FISHING
Clearwater River and it's tributaries offer
world class fishing opportunities for spin casting and fly
fishing alike. A fishing license and salmon tags (for salmon
fishing only) are required and available in Clearwater at the
Tourist Information Center. The Clearwater River itself is
closed for fishing until July 15th and from then on it is
"Catch & Release" for Trout and Char only.
Our property encompasses the confluence
of Hemp Creek and Clearwater River (the mouth and approx.
400-500 meters upstream). Hemp Creek is open for Trout and
Char all summer long and your daily catch quota is four, one
of which only over 50 cm. Of these four you are also only
allowed 1 Dolly Varden and 1 Bull Trout which both have to be
a minimum of 60 cm.
Salmon Fishing: Chinook Salmon is open in
both streams for the month of August only. Your daily catch
quota is four, of which only one can be over 50 cm and your
monthly bag limit of Chinook over 50cm is four.
